Get Recovery Resources

  1. Regardless of how you were impacted by Harvey, you should first and foremost register with FEMA if you haven't already.
    1. Call 1-800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362)
    2. Or, visit disasterassistance.gov
    3. Report damaged property in the City of Houston to 311.
  2. If you need help with muck-out or clean-up of your home:
    • Register with Crisis Clean-Up at 1-844-965-1386.
    • Then, you can also register with Recovery Houston by calling 936.931.8098 or emailing help@recoveryhoustontx.com
    • If you are outside of Houston, you can sign up with the Cajun Army by clicking here.
    • For debris removal in Harris County:
      • Call 713-274-3880
  3. If you lost wages due to missed hours/shifts or unemployement related to the flood:
    1. Call 1-800-939-663
    2. Or, visit Texas Workforce Commission website by clicking here.
  4. Apply for the American Red Cross Immediate Assistance Program:
    1. Complete the application by clicking here.
  5. If you are looking for a place to receive essential items like food, water, and cleaning supplies for you and/or your family:
    1. Right away you should apply for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ("Food Stamps") by clicking here.
    2. Call 211 to be connected with an array of non-profit and faith-based services near you through the United Way of Greater Houston.
    3. Visit a Baker Ripley Neighborhood Center, one of our main distribution sites for donations received and sorted at the Hub.
      • Monday -Friday 9 AM to 5 PM: Harbach-Ripley, 6225 Northdale
      • Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 8 PM: Baker-Ripley, 6500 Rookin
      • Monday-Friday 9 AM to 7 PM: Ripley House, 4410 Navigation

Get Involved

  1. Sign up to volunteer at volunteerhouston.org. This is Houston's central volunteering hub with over 50,000 Houstonians already registered.
  2. Be sure to go to reportyourhours.com, created by Sketch City to report your hors, which allows the City of Houston to seek additional reimbursement from the federal government. Very important!
  3. Register your participating volunteer groups and organizations at houstonhelpsafterharvey.org. If you sign up as an individual or "self," you can simply stay in the loop about Harvey-related service opportunities in Houston.
